Rooted Together
As summer begins to wind down, many of us are settling back into familiar routines. School is starting, calendars are filling up, and life begins to pick up its pace again. In the midst of these seasonal changes, it's worth asking: What are we rooted in?
Paul writes in Colossians 2:6–7:
"Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving."
Just as a tree depends on deep roots to remain strong through changing seasons, we need to be deeply rooted in Christ. Our relationship with Him is strengthened as we spend time in His Word, seek Him in prayer, worship with His people, and encourage one another in faith.
One of God's greatest gifts to us is the local church. Here we grow together, carry one another's burdens, celebrate God's faithfulness, and remind each other of the hope we have in Christ. As we enter this new season, let's make gathering with our church family a priority—not out of obligation, but because we need one another as we follow Jesus.
Whether you're joining us for Summer Worship Night, Night of Prayer, serving alongside others at El Roi's Nursery, or simply greeting someone with a smile on Sunday morning, every moment spent pursuing Christ together helps deepen our roots.
May this be a season where Hope Valley continues to grow—not just in numbers, but in faith, love, and our devotion to Jesus Christ.
Meet the Greeter Team
A smile can make all the difference.
Before someone hears the sermon or sings a song, they're greeted by someone who helps them feel seen, welcomed, and valued.
Our Greeter Team plays an important role in creating a warm and inviting first impression every Sunday. Whether opening doors, greeting guests, or helping visitors find their way, this ministry helps people feel at home from the moment they arrive.
We're currently looking for more friendly faces to join the team!
If you enjoy meeting people and helping others feel welcome, we'd love to help you find your place on the Greeter Team.
Ministry Highlight
Last month, we had the opportunity to hear from Sarah Atnip, Program Director of El Roi's Nursery and HVBC member, and learn more about the incredible work they are doing in our community.
El Roi's Nursery is on mission to ensure expectant and new mothers in need feel seen, heard, and loved by providing them with basic needs to care for and nurture their child. Through practical support, encouragement, and compassion, they walk alongside mothers and families during an important season of life.
We are thankful for the opportunity to partner with El Roi's Nursery and support their mission of caring for mothers and babies while sharing the love of Christ.
Join Us for Serve Night!
Sunday, August 9 | 4:00–6:00 PM
We invite you to join us as we serve alongside El Roi's Nursery. During our Serve Night, we will help organize their inventory room and prepare gifts for an upcoming pop-up baby shower.
This is a great opportunity for individuals, families, and small groups to serve together and make a tangible difference in the lives of families in our community.
Thank you for being a church that cares deeply about loving our neighbors and showing the heart of Jesus in practical ways.

Celebrating What God Is Doing
God continues to build His church, and we're thankful for every person who says "yes" to serving.
This month we're celebrating:
New volunteers joining our ministry teams
New opportunities to serve our community
Faithful volunteers who continue to invest in the mission of Hope Valley
Lives being impacted through simple acts of service and hospitality
Thank you for using your gifts to build up the body of Christ!
"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace." — 1 Peter 4:10
